Firhall Estate Firhall Estate was built on the south side of Nairn by the Grants of Rothiemurchas a family of timber merchants. The main house is an impressive country house of stone and slate in the Scottish Baronial style, set on the banks of the river Nairn and surrounded by 22 acres of established woodland, paddocks, lawns and walled gardens. In 1997 Planning Permission was granted for a concept village designed as a lifestyle village for the over 45's. The idea behind this was to create a communally maintained open-plan landscaped garden layout where residents could enjoy private space and ground floor living. Every house has a ground floor bedroom, ensuite and dressing room and is designed to accommodate the transition to older age seamlessly. Within the estate there are a variety of house types to suit various budgets and tastes. The centre pieces are the Firhall House, the landscaped gardens and a feature pond. We were responsible for the drainage,the house foundations, driveways and all external slabbing.
